NY not so untouchable anymore?
I find it interesting that after years of fighting the emergence of e-books and touting them as not real books that more and more of the NY publishing houses are now putting their author's books in electronic format. I realize that their move is strictly about money and the loss of it they are suffering, but it sill validates the industry as a whole when the people once so vehemently against acknowledging e-books is now starting to embrace them. Well, maybe embrace is isn't quite the right choice of words as I'm sure they're doing this holding their nose and stomping their feet like toddlers in a temper tantrum. However, a moving they are doing and that's good for the future of e-publishing.
Check out this link I found about HarperCollins.

Changes are coming and the future for e-publishing is looking good!

Amazon.com Illegal practices?
Now being that I'm new to the business and seriously doubt I'll ever have any books in print (erotic romance sells much better in electronic form), the rumors I hear about Amazon.com wouldn't necessarily effect me directly.
However, as I work to get my first story published, I have made a few author friends already and they will be effected by Amazon.com's decision to play by their own rules. In my opinion, not only is it possibly criminial for them to participate in the unfair trade practice of sneaking around behind Lightning Source's back and threatening all their publishers must stop. Personally, I don't care if they are the largest book seller on the internet. What they are doing it immoral and potentially illegal and I hope they get caught. Wouldn't it be nice to see them land on the doorsteps of congress to face tough questions about what they are doing. Or better yet, let them end up in court and have to swear under oath that what they're doing is right.
Yeah right, tell that to all the author's they're screwing out of money for a bigger buck. Tell that to all the consumers out there who will no doubt be the receipiants of lousy service and high prices from Amazon's own distributor Booksurge.
My fellow author friend Michelle Cary let me use the image she made and I think it says it all. I say boycott Amazon.com and let them know you're not going to take this complete disregard for the rules.

Hello
Hi all...
Well, this is my first post on my new blog and I can't tell you how excited I am to be jumping into the world of erotic romance and publishing. I'm currently editing my first erotic novella and hope to submit it to a few publishers soon. Be sure to check back to see the status of my books and all kinds of other goodies I plan to post here.
Just so you all know, I've been writing for about 4 years now, but only decided to get serious about it about a year ago. Since then I've been polishing my skills and biding my time. I know I'm emerging at a time when the economy isn't the greatest and maybe times are a bit low for some, but when real life gets in the way, that's when some turn to books to escape. I hope to provide sensual erotic romance that touches on the taboo, but don't worry, it will always be with consenting adults and will always have a happy ending. Here's too a long and fruitful publishing career and all the joys (and headaches) that come with it.
